Regardless of how you travel there are some KEY tricks to keeping your skin looking and feeling its best.
Let’s start with what should be in any carry on (the ONE bag that NEVER leaves your side)
1. Eye Drops- Keeps eyes hydrated and clear- even if you are on a RED EYE, yours won’t be!
2. Cleansing wipes- I LOVE the ones from Philosophy, but even Yes to Cucumbers is a more cost effective option. Keeps skin and hands clean and allows you to prep before using one of the below travel keys to address your specific issue.
3. Hand Cream- Your hands reveal your age, habits, etc. Let’s keep them guessing by keeping hands spot, wrinkle and dryness-FREE. I rotate between BLISS Body Butter in Lemon and Sage, Spa Ritual Blood Orange; as these two scents I DIE FOR.
4. Breath Mints: no need for explanation
Challenges-UV exposure, dehydration
Keys: Moisture Attracting Mist (Sampar Skin Quenching Mist is MY FAVE; Evian Travel Mister; La Roche Posay Thermal Spring Water)
SPF RE-APPLICATION IS A MUST!!! In my humble opinion the easiest way to re-apply is with a powder form of SPF-like Colorscience Pro’s Sunforgettable SPF 30. (Most mineral makeup is also easy to re-apply SPF, due to the average SPF rating of 15)
Challenges: Dehydration, Puffiness, Sallow looking skin
Keys: I make sure to use a moisture binding serum and travel in a hydrating mask. Re- wetting the mask with a moisture attracting mist. I use separate masks for eyes/face. Serums to try: MoistureX10 by Bioelements, Hydrating B5 Gel by Skinceuticals. Masks to try: SAMPAR Nocturnal Line Up Mask, AmorePacific Moisture Bound Vitalizing Mask. For the eye area- TALIKA. * AVOID SALT to reduce puffiness, but start the week before your trip*
Challenges: Dehydration, UV Exposure, sallow skin, puffiness
Keys: Basically same challenges as being in either an automobile or plane.
You can use all of these tips at the same time if you are so inclined.
